ABOUT ME

About Me

I started my counselling studies in 2010. It seemed a natural progression for me and I love the work.
Originally, over 30 years ago, I trained as a nurse. My work, particularly that with terminal patients, let me to believe there must be something more I could offer. So began my exploration of meditation, spirituality and therapeutic body energy work. I came to realise that the client’s self-awareness is core to any lasting and effective healing taking place. It brings choice and new possibilities. I wanted to learn how to offer that space through counselling.

I trained as a person centred counsellor.
Put simply this means that I believe the relationship between client and counsellor is very important and I aim to be as understanding, accepting and genuine as I can be.

Over the past 11 years I have gained extensive experience working in a variety of settings, including general counselling, mental health, specialist bereavement counselling and short term, solution focused, employment assistance programs.

During that time I have supported people with a wide variety of issues. Please feel free to give me a ring and we can arrange an appointment to discuss what’s going on for you and how I can best support you.

Within this relationship I hope you will be able to explore the things that are troubling you and find some solutions. I aim to provide a safe space for you where your self-awareness can blossom and where you feel supported to make any changes in your life that are needed.
